Hobo With A Shotgun CR: #4

Our movie today is deemed by many to be "THE CRAZIEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE" (Quote from Sam Goodrich of Sam's New and Classic Reviews Blog) This is...

 Let's Begin...

PLOT
We follow an insane Hobo played by Rutger Hauer who drops off in this one town (who the people who live their call it Fu*k Town) which may be the most corrupt, crime filled, messed up town in THE WORLD. So of course he decides to stay there. While in that town, he finds that the citizens of this town are being terrorized by an old man and his two preppy sons (OH THE HORROR!!). But when they go to far, this Hobo doesn't just sit back and take it, No, he goes into a pawn shop with the intent of buying a Lawnmower to start a lawn mowing business (remember, he's crazy) but instead buys a shotgun and DELIVERS VIGILANTLY JUSTICE, ONE SHELL AT A TIME!!!!

PROS
This film is supposed to be a modern day 70's exploration film, which were movies that were made a extremely low budgets with massive amounts of violence and gore. Now I have only seen one of these movies, which is considered the tamest one ever made, I have to say, this went above and beyond the call of duty in terms of that.

Rutger Hauer does an amazing job as the Hobo. While everyone else in supposed to be acting like a bad actor, he is the only one really giving his all. I feel like no one told this is supposed to be "So Bad it's Good" movie.

The action and gore in this movie is AWESOME, if a little too extreme, more at that later!

Halfway through the movie, Two new characters are introduced only known as The Plague.
While a lot of people found them too ridiculous, I though they fit right in.

This movie has some awesome lines. For example "Don't worry he's only killing the crooked cops. WE'RE ALL CROOKED COPS!"

This movie doesn't try to make a badass character. What I mean is that in movies like Machete where they spend too long trying to make a badass image, this movie just does something cool then move on.

CONS
The violence can get a little too extreme. One example is that for no reason except to up the anti the bad guys burn a school bus with children in it. Now I know that the kids are ok and no one actually dies, just the thought goes to far in my opinion

CONCLUSION
Now I can sum up my entire review in one question: If the title "Hobo With a Shotgun" sounds like the most awesomest thing EVOR (those words are real words, I just made them real words) Then go see this. If you think, wow that sounds stupid, then stay away. Plain and simple. While I was really excited to see this, It was more crazy then I could handle. I still like it, so far it's in my top 10 of favorite films this year, but it's not for everyone.

RATING
RENTABLE
